Bairds Malt is pleased to announce the appointment of Graham Manson as our new Commercial Sales Manager.
Graham brings a wealth of experience in the distilling industry, with over 30 years’ experience working within the Scottish distilling industry, most recently as Head of Distilling for William Grant & Sons looking after their 3 distilleries in Dufftown.
Graham also joins the business at an exciting time for Bairds as development continues of our new malting plant in Inverness, following our successful refurbishment of our Clova malting plant in our Arbroath maltings. These two developments will bring an additional 79,000 tonnes of malting capacity into the market, meeting demand for quality Scottish malt from the distilling industry.
“I have been a customer of Bairds Malt throughout my distilling career,” said Graham. “I’m now looking forward to having the opportunity to learn a bit more about this business and help out with the ambition to cement Bairds’ place as the malt supplier of choice to the industry.”
“The UK has a unique combination of factors that have contributed to the incredible success story of the distilling industry. Climate, soil, topography, land use, industrialisation, education, community and heritage have all combined over the last couple of hundred years or so to bring us to where we are today. We look forward to seeing how the industry will continue to adapt and thrive, particularly as we see new distillers entering the market and as we seek to work together across the supply chain to address opportunities on issues such as sustainability.”
Commenting on Graham’s appointment, Bairds Commercial Director Alan Williamson said: “We are delighted to welcome Graham into the Bairds team. Graham brings a wealth of experience from years working in some of Scotland’s most iconic distilleries. Graham’s role sits between our malt production and our customers. He will support Bairds to continue to make the best quality distilling malt tailored to our customer needs, and he will support our customers to extract its maximum potential. It is an exciting time for Bairds with our Project Angel capacity expansion recently in production at Arbroath, and our new plant under construction in Inverness. Graham’s appointment further underlines our commitment to our distilling customers and the Scotch whisky industry.”
Graham started his post with Bairds recently and is looking forward to getting out to meet customers when Covid allows. For now he can be contacted on: [email protected]
